We are excited that you have expressed interest in attending our upcoming 2023 GANI YIRRA Women’s Weekend Summer Retreat, Nywaigi Country, North Queensland Region.

‘GANI YIRRA’ derives from the Nywaigi Aboriginal Language Group meaning ‘North Seed’, North Queensland. The ancestral lands of the Nywaigi people stretch along approximately 100 km of the north-east Queensland coast from Rollingstone in the south (Paluma, Crystal Creeks) to Cardwell in the north and inland to the coastal ranges – Lucinda, Taylor’s Beach & Forest Beach.

PURPOSE

• Join us for 2.5 days of being transformed and culturally immersed amongst first nation’s history that’s run by and delivered by Nywaigi women. Our retreat is designed to move you emotionally and spiritually in such a way to inspire to empower yourself and others, to restore, reflect and regain your self-power back to take on the world you live in but to become a better version of yourself! SELF CARE & ME TIME!
• This is a unique one-of-a-kind transformative women’s retreat delivered on Nywaigi country by its traditional owners in tropical North Queensland.
• “A Jewel in the Crown”. Surrounded by tropical rainforest, crisp freshwaters and waterfalls of big and little crystal creeks, you are sure to be mesmerised by all things nature has intended it to be.
• Paluma range national park is a world heritage listed area. It consists of nearly 900,000ha of vegetation which is primarily tropical rainforest, but also included open eucalypt forest, wetlands and mangrove forests. It also has cultural significance for the local Nywaigi aboriginal people who have traditional links with the area and its surrounds.
• Nywaigi aboriginal history rooted in richness, tradition, family connections to land and sea. There’s lots to explore, learn and listen.
• A memorable journey for your mind, body and soul where you will be able to connect on a different level deeply to this area special and sacred to Nywaigi people.
• Share, laugh, journal, eat delicious traditional foods, walking on country, sharing of stories. Enjoy, open up your heart with an open mind and willingness to learn. Take these with you and cherish your new memories of a moment in time that’s certainly going to leave an imprint on you for the rest of your life.

Our divine purpose behind GANI YIRRA is to plant a new seed/new breadth of life into each of the lives of our Sistas to re-evaluate, replenish and restore. Serving with genuine intent to listen, with cultural guided delivery, where regardless of our tribal groups, communities and boundaries, our women as a collective gather together naturally. Creating a circle of trust, speaking from the heart, that not only welcomes vulnerability but moves to create a more positive energy within our Sisterhood. Being one with our Sistas, being feminine, being natural and being authentic. Creating a new sense of self. Our main objective is for you to leave with a feeling of newness on life and fulfillment.

GANI YIRRA is planned to be a jam-packed weekend retreat to refresh, inspire, heal and transform you into your better and greater self. SO BE READY!!!

Transport via bus will be provided for pickup from Townsville to Retreat Location then return to Townsville ONLY. For all women aged 18+. No Children Allowed as no child minding assistance will be provided.
